Using the API documentation on http://docs.magentocommerce.com/ is sometimes a little bit confusing and made me not really happy.
For this reason I generated an API Doc with the  documentation system DoxyGen. Thank’s Jürgen

Es ist geplant, dass Magento Go vom Betreiber das erste Jahr kostenlos genutzt werden kann.

Die neue Sticker Tauschbörse auf Facebook “StickerExchange”, welche vorige Woche von uns PXP Interactive auf Facebook veröffentlicht wurde, schafft diesem Ärger nun Abhilfe! Auf “StickerExchange” kann man ganz einfach seine fehlenden und doppelten Sticker eintragen und schon sieht man, welche Freunde auf Facebook die gesuchten Sticker haben!

Bei Klick auf das Profilfoto eines Freundes sieht man dessen Fortschritt und eine detailierte Ansicht, welche Sticker der Freund sucht und welche er doppelt hat:

Dabei bin ich heute zu der folgenden Erkenntnis gelangt: Es ist ja allgemein bekannt, dass Facebook die immense Last von Anfragen auf mehrere Cluster-Nodes in ihrer Infrastruktur aufteilt. Was mir bis heute aber nicht bekannt war, aber was durchaus Sinn macht: Die User werden bestimmten Cluster-Nodes zugewiesen. Dadurch hat Facebook natürlich den großen Vorteil, dass bei einem kompromittierten bzw. nicht funktionsfähigen Cluster-Node, was beispielsweise durchaus beim Ausrollen von fehlerhaften Code Deployments auftreten kann, nur ein Bruchteil der User von diesen Fehlern betroffen ist.

Man könnte sich die Facebook Infrastruktur wie ein ganz großer Massenhoster vorstellen, jedoch sind die einzelnen Server applikatorisch untereinander vernetzt und der Webspace ist im Endeffekt ein einzelner Facebook User

Interessant wäre ein Tool, mit welchem man diese Statistik je nach Land dynamisch generieren könnte. Man darf gespannt sein, wie weit sich diese Statistik im Laufe der nächsten Monate bzw. Jahre ändern wird.

Foursquare Friends in Google Maps

Today I played around with the wonderful Foursquare API and used the REST webservice methods of this api to display my Foursquare contacts in Google Maps.
Now I have a nice interface, which shows me all the current locations of all my friends in Foursquare. The Foursquare API delivers the geo location of my friends to my application in real time.

Das Programm ist abwechslungsreich: von Einblicken in die Cross-Plattform App-Programmierung mit Qt, Phonegap und WRT, über mobile Webseiten bis zur erfolgreichen Vermarktung von Applikationen reicht die Palette.

Nach den Vorträgen am Freitag (5.3.) gibt es dann die Möglichkeit am Samstag (6.3.) in Developer Sessions selbst aktiv zu werden. Alle interessierten TeilnehmerInnen, die selbst Developer Sessions halten wollen, können im Rahmen des Call for Participation ihre Konzepte (Thema, Aufbau der Session, praktische Beispiele) zum geplanten Thema an dev@nokiaappforum.com schicken. Today I spent some time to setup our nagios monitoring service with Prowl API calls. Here you can find a littlw How-To for your setup:

1. Download the Prowl Perl Script directly on your nagios server:

Now, try it out to be sure the perl script works:

You should get a ‘Notification successfully posted.’ message. It should popup directly on your Iphone after one second!

2. Now we come the nagios part:
First, you need to set up your contact information. Edit whichever file you keep your contacts in, and modify an existing record, or add a new one, similar to this:

If you have any trouble, check the nagios debug logs, (you may need to turn up the nagios debug level) and try to run the command it’s producing as the nagios user.
